Women in Dairy, which runs discussion groups around the UK including one in Hampshire and another in Sussex, is inviting nominations for any female, working at any level in the dairy industry for its new Dairy Industry Woman of the Year Award.
In line with the groups’ key values, nominees should be able to demonstrate: how they bring women together from across the dairy industry; exchange knowledge and experiences to develop skills and confidence; and how they encourage innovative thinking and vision for the future of UK dairy.
Women in Dairy, an initiative from Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers (RABDF) and Promar International, and supported by AHDB Dairy, was designed to connect women working in the dairy industry in regional discussion groups to learn, network and promote the image of dairy farming.
Di Wastenage, an RABDF council member, dairy farmer and newly appointed patron, commented: “Recognising and rewarding success is something that Women in Dairy is passionate about and this new award will celebrate female achievements in our industry.”
Entry forms must be received by 18 August and the winner will be announced at the annual Women in Dairy conference on 20 September at Sixways Stadium, Worcester. Nomination forms are available from Women in Dairy.
