The new online booking facility for 2017 is on the show website www.heathfieldshow.org for all livestock and horse entries. Additionally, copies of schedules can be downloaded for all the classes: cattle, sheep, pigs or horses, the flower show or vintage tractors.
All the information on these competitions is available on the web page and entry forms can also be downloaded to make paper entries. The closing date for entries is 1 April for cattle, sheep and pig classes and 11 April for horse classes.
Show organisers have made provisions to enable exhibitors to take part in the show while adhering to all restrictions. Cattle will be on 24 hour turnaround and only remain on the showground between 4pm on Friday 26 and 4pm Saturday 27 May. The show has been issued with a licence to hold an animal gathering.
Heathfield Show has already booked a good mix of agriculture related stands with farm machinery dealers, professional advisers, country clothing suppliers, building and fence constructors and the local farmers’ market.
Applications to enter the new enterprise zone (NEZ) competition have closed. This year has been another great year for entries. The 10 winners in the entries will get a free trade stand to promote their new business in the NEZ area. New businesses who have been trading for less than a year have entered the competition.
The country ways area will be full of local artisans demonstrating their skills including a wheel wright, spinner, bee keeper and blacksmith. The WI marquee being run by the Heffle group, the farmers’ market is selling all local produce and the “made in the Weald” craft fair has demonstration of produce from the Wealden countryside.
In the main ring, the monster trucks will be ripping apart cars and there will also be human tractor pulling.
